Holly Relyea is a multimedia visual artist currently living in New York. In her practice, the artist possesses a particular fascination with marine life and biological growth. These interests stem from having grown up on her family’s oyster and clam farm on Long Island.
Holly Relyea’s works can often be described as emergent, peculiar types of creatures. The works visually seem to come to life once they are completed; they sprout into space with vitality and vivacity.
The artist holds a BFA degree in Visual Arts and a BS degree in Visual Arts Education from SUNY New Paltz. She is currently a graduate student at Teacher College of Columbia University, and teaches art in NYC.
